In June of 1961, approximately 600 seniors graduated from Fresno High School.  The graduation ceremony was on the south lawn where workers had set up a platform for the graduates so that their parents and loved ones could see Principal Arthur Miller and a member of the school board present us with our diplomas.

 

We have no stats as to how many of us went to college, or became professionals such as doctors, accounts, lawyers or school teachers.  We do know, however, that 76 of our classmates served our country in Viet Nam and thankfully, all of them came home alive.

 

As of January, 2024, we have confirmed the passing of 207 of our fellow classmates.  Click here to view the list of deceased classmates.

 

We have had at least 9 reunions with the last being our 62^nd in September of 2023.  For our 55^th we had 128 in attendance and for our 62^nd we had 95 in attendance.  We hope to have a 65^th reunion in 2026.

 

We have current contact information on approximately 350 of our classmates.  Therefore, we have approximately 50 who are either missing and/or deceased.  Click here to see the missing list.

 

For the last 10 years, or so, we have been getting together for monthly luncheons at a local restaurant.  Attendance at these luncheons varies between 10 and 20 classmates.  A good way to keep up to date on our activities is to visit our Facebook page Fresno Hi Class of 61.  Only members of the class can view what is posted so you must ask to join if you have not done so already.

On Tuesday March 19th we will have our monthly luncheon at George Restaurant in Fresno.  It will start at 11:30, but some of us do get there a little early.  Reservations are not required, nor necessary.  You can bring your spouse/other.  We order off of the menu and get separate checks.   If you have questions, click here to send us an e-mail.
